Family. It’s just one word. But it’s such an important word. In my mind, family is everything. The connections (through blood or not) in a family are the most meaningful connections you will have in your entire life. It’s not something that you should ever take for granted. Your unique role in a family can never be changed. You will always be a mother, a brother, a daughter, etc. You will always have your specific role. This is what draws me into family sessions. This is what motivates me to tell your story. From the moment you first contact me through the final product delivery, you invite me in to your own special family.
I truly want you to just spend your session creating memories with your family. You guys snuggling on a blanket together, racing each other through a field, laughing at jokes together. I want you doing the things that you always do to make your kids laugh and have fun. I want you to tell your kids how much you love them to see their faces light up while you squeeze them in tight for a hug. Showing up for a session with me means that you’ll leave your expectations at the door and embrace whatever chaos might ensue. And please just trust me to be to capture all of the love and smiles throughout all of it. All I need is a split second during these moments.

Marisa is a gift to this world. Her talent, eye and skill (not to mention her kindness and compassion) are unparalleled. She's photographed the birth of our son, a lifestyle family session when he turned a year old and most recently brought us in to her new studio location for a few updated photos. I trust her. Completely. Clearly, by allowing her to be in the birthing room at the hospital- it really doesn't get more intimate and sensitive that that. Every photo exceeds the one before it. She's given us priceless treasures. Even in my insecurities about my postpartum self, she's taken photos that have brought me to tears (specifically the ones with me in them because I've never felt more beautiful). To say I'm grateful isn't enough. PLEASE do yourself a favor and hire this woman. She'll love on you, your people and your babes all while effortlessly being a master of her craft.
Marisa is the best of the best for family photography in this area, hands down. She can capture the sweetest family moments while also paying attention to beautiful light and composition. Her editing is always outstanding, with vibrant colors that pop. You will cherish your images from her as true artwork for your home and in albums. She is wonderful to work with, too. She can capture gems of the most crazy or cranky kids. She has photographed my family twice, and the second time my kids were completely out of control. I was nervous, but Marisa embraced their crazy and took some of my favorite photos of them ever. She will see the beauty in your family as you are and not in how you could be perfectly posed. For both studio sessions and outdoor portraits, Marisa is an expert. Her gentle and friendly personality will put you at ease, inviting you to be yourself and focus on your family. During my motherhood session, she captured my children's personalities perfectly, as well as my bond with each of them. As a mom, it's rare that we take the time to have ourselves photographed, but Marisa makes it easy. She gives just enough direction to make you feel confident, without it feeling stiff or awkward. When I look at the images from our session, I feel so incredibly lucky. Every single image in our gallery is worth framing. It is truly never too early to get on my schedule. I would recommend scheduling a minimum of 1-2 months prior to your desired date for your session. For the fall, I would recommend scheduling at least 4 months prior in order to get your most desired date. My fall is the busiest time of year and weekends book up about 6 months ahead of time.
WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
COMPLEMENT & COORDINATE BUT DON’T GET TOO MATCHY! Find a color palette that you love and choose outfits that complement each other without looking too matchy-matchy. We want everyone to look unique and portray their individual style. Opt for neutrals with a few pops of color or a softer palette that has different ranges in tone of the same shades. And lucky you - I provide access to an online styling assistant to help you plan your outfits!
WHAT DO I WEAR?
You can go so many different ways with your location. I have many recommendations for locations that you can use. I can guarantee that these locations will photograph beautifully and get amazing light! This can range from farms, fields to even the downtown streets of your local town. But don't discount choosing a location that has meaning to you! It can be your own home/yard. It can be a park that you always go to as a family. The options are endless!
what location should i choose?
Now! The answer is now! If you are here on this page thinking about a session, then the time is right for you to book now! That way you can choose your most desirable date. You can give yourself some time to plan out your outfits. If the location you want requires permits, we will have time to line those up. Just go ahead and do it and cross one more thing off of that long to-do list that I know you must have!
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?
Yep! I sure do. I tend to regularly shoot at locations in Chester County, but I really can travel wherever. I have shot in PA, DE and NJ. I shoot down at the shore all of the time. I am not opposed to traveling anywhere as long as I can make it work with my schedule. A certain travel radius is included in my packages. Sometimes for farther away locations, a travel fee might be required.
do you travel?
Easy! Just fill out my contact page and I'll respond as soon as I can with pricing for your session. As long as I know how many people will be in your group and where you are thinking of having your session, I can then provide you with the most accurate pricing for your specific session.
HOW CAN I GET A QUOTE?
This part is easy. I simply need your name, email address and phone number to draft up a contract for your session. You will then sign the contract and then you will have to pay a retainer to hold your spot on my calendar. The final payment is due the date of your session.
