There is nothing greater than the honor of photographing a session for another photographer. Well for this session, there were actually two photographers in this family. Abi and Andy own the amazing Abigail Gingerale Photography. When they asked me to photograph their family, I was incredibly excited and immediately nervous. There is definitely an added pressure when you are photographing other photographers. We decided to do the session in my own yard located right in Chester County. I love being a Chester County Family Photographer. It’s taken me a while to fall in love with my own property for sessions but now I truly love shooting here. There is a wide variety of good areas to shoot in. Plus, I have two old rusty Ford trucks to use as well as some stone ruins! My yard also gets some amazing light from mid fall almost all the way until the end of spring.
When this sweet family pulled up to my house, they were 45 minutes late! I was slightly panicking because I time my sessions very closely to sunset. This means that I don’t really allow for extra time to go past a regular session. Luckily this family was so incredibly awesome and made me relax the second we started our session. It honestly was so easy and so much fun to work with them. During your sessions with me, please try to relax as much as you can. If you come to a session with the expectation that you’re just going to hang out, cuddle and have fun as a family for an hour, then your session will go much smoother. I love when families interact with each other and barely realize that I’m there. I’ll place you in certain spots where the light is best but then, I want my families to forget that I’m taking their pictures and just enjoy their time together. There were so many favorites from this session that it’s so incredibly hard for me to choose my favorites. But here’s what I came up with……
